Our Story
I started Venture Productions in 2003 after creating a DVD slideshow for my grandmother's 90th birthday party. I created something that not only my grandmother, but my extended family, treasures and is a wonderful remembrance of her life, especially now that she is gone.
The name of the company - VENTURE PRODUCTIONS - was inspired by the book "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown. I thought the ambigrams in the book were amazing! An ambigram is a word that can be read both right-side-up and upside-down.
It was around midnight one evening when my husband, Derek, came into my office to ask what I was doing. It looked like I was doodling on a piece of paper. I said that I was making a logo for a company called Venture Productions, and that the logo was going to be an ambigram so that when you looked at it right-side-up, the logo would read VENTURE, but when you turned it upside down, it would read ATHENA. Derek's immediate reaction was to say, "That's impossible!" "Why?", I said. His reply was "Because ATHENA has 6 letters and VENTURE has 7!" Did I mention that he's an engineer?
As the old saying goes, "Nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it". CLICK ON THE VENTURE LOGO TO SEE THE AMBIGRAM!
